Rugs can really transform the look and feel of your space. So if you're looking for new rugs, here's what you need to know.

What's your budget?

The most important thing to consider when buying a rug is your budget. You should have a realistic idea of how much you can afford to spend and stick with it!

If you're looking for the best quality rugs at an affordable price, our selection of high-quality ones will surely fit the bill. Check out our shop for an extensive range of beautiful and affordable rugs.

What size do you need?

Bedroom Rugs

You can't just buy a rug and expect it to fit in your room. You need to measure the area where you want to place your rug, and then calculate how much space it will take up. If you're not sure what size rug will work best for your home and needs, here's what you should know:

  • How do I measure my room?

The best way is with a tape measurer or yardstick (or whatever else has a metric scale). Measure from wall-to-wall across each side of the room at its widest point--this will give us an idea of how large our rug should be!

We offer two sizes (260cm x130cm Large and 290 x 200 Extra Large), perfect sizes for the modern home.

How thick do you want it to be?

Thickness is measured in millimeters. You can think of it as the thickness of the pile. If a rug has a pile that's 1/2" thick, then it will be half an inch tall when you stand on it. The higher the number of millimeters, the thicker your rug will be--and generally speaking, thicker rugs cost more money but have other benefits, too: they're more durable and comfortable than thinner ones; they're easier to vacuum, and they'll stay put on hardwood floors or tiles instead of sliding around underfoot like a thin carpet would do (unless you live somewhere with soft-wood floors).

  • Thicker rugs tend to be more expensive than thinner ones because there's more material involved in making them. Some rugs like our Jodie Imogen and Macy rugs are created using space dyed polyester which will also increase the price due to the complexity of construction.

Think about practicalities.

You'll also want to think about practicalities. What will be under your rug? Will it be able to stand up to heavy foot traffic, or do you need something more delicate? Is there enough storage space in your home for an oversized rug that takes up half of your living room floor?

These are all important questions for anyone considering buying a new piece of furniture, but if you're looking at rugs specifically, then some other factors come into play, too: How heavy is it? How easy is it going to be for me to vacuum on a regular basis.

How is the quality of the rug?

The quality of your rug is important. You want to make sure that it's sturdy and well-made, so you can enjoy it for years to come.

If you're buying online, look at the materials used in making your rug. Is it made from high-quality wool or yarn? Does it have a thick pile that will last for years? If so, then you're probably looking at a higher-quality product than if the material is cheap or thin--and this could mean paying more money upfront but saving money in the long run because you won't need to replace your rug as often (or ever).

Opera Quality

The stitching should also be neat and even: if there are any loose threads hanging out around seams on either side of where two pieces join together, then this might indicate poor workmanship overall! If possible, try visiting local stores where rugs are displayed so that you can inspect them closely before purchasing online - sometimes seeing something with your own eyes allows us all kinds of insight into whether something will work well enough for our needs/lifestyle.
